Classical spheres of Pöyry's activities within the range of concrete engineering are the advancement of spraying concrete technology, concrete mix designs for inner shell of tunnels and elaboration of concept for production of waterproof concrete buildings, in Austria named 'white trough'. At that time like today we are supporting building projects from planning and design phase over execution phase into operating phase. The Material Technology department is always at the pulse of happening with consulting, testing and surveilling activities.

Research & development
New technologies and procedures were often integrated to guideline and standards with our participation. Our many years of experience from supporting numerous dams, bridges, drifts and tunnels in water and traffic route constructions as well as with other building projects ensures quality-assuring and economical solutions at newest state of art.

For construction of Austrian barrages Schlegeis, Koelnbrein and Zillergruendl as well as the earth dam Durlassboden etc. pioneer work was done by developing building materials and building procedures. This huge knowledge in working out special solutions is representing today still valuable know how, which we use for the advantage of our customers.
